Kerry Duarte,LICSW, CIMHP
Owner/Licensed in MA, RI, CT

Welcome, my name is Kerry Duarte. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and a Certified Integrative Mental Health Provider (CIMHP). I am also the owner of Ray of Light Wellness LLC which was established in 2017. I first became interested in the field of mental health during my senior year of high school when I volunteered at a nursing home. I noticed that residents felt better when I was able to provide empathy and active listening while visiting with them. It was a very rewarding experience to develop a significant level of rapport and connections there. I went on to complete my undergraduate studies at Salve Regina University in Newport RI where I graduated in 2008 with two Bachelor of Arts degrees, one in Psychology and one in Sociology. From 2008-2010 I attended Wheelock college, which is now a division of Boston University, and acquired a Master of Social Work degree. Shortly after I graduated I became a member of The Massachusetts chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). I obtained my Massachusetts license as an Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in 2014.

Throughout my career, I have worked with clients within community agencies, school systems and clinical settings. I am also a bilingual therapist who has been providing sessions in the Portuguese language for those who need a therapist fluent in the language. Since starting Ray of Light Wellness LLC in 2017, I enjoy meeting with clients online and creating a comfortable and easy experience for them. I currently work one-on-one with clients who are 18 years or older with a focus in treating anxiety disorders, mood disorders, post traumatic stress disorder, substance misuse and abuse, issues with low self esteem, eating disorders, as well as gender identity issues. In 2019, I completed credits from the Integrative Institute of Mental Health and became a Certified Integrative Mental Health Provider (CIMHP), allowing me to talk about diet and nutrition with my clients as well as natural alternatives to healing the mind, body, and soul. In 2020, I acquired licensing to be able to meet with clients in the state of Rhode Island, and in 2021, I also obtained licensure in the state of Connecticut. It has been an honor to meet many incredible individuals on their healing journeys. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be on this path.

During my free time, I enjoy reading about neuroscience as well as nutritional approaches to healing the mind and body. I love to write poetry and listen to all types of rock music. I am an animal lover who likes to spend quality time with my dog. I also enjoy going to beaches and parks. I am most recently learning about planting and gardening skills. I like to learn from people who have had a variety of different interests and life experiences. I am open to learning and hearing about all spiritual practices and cultural beliefs. I am also a strong supporter of the LGBTQIA+ community. I welcome all who are interested to join my practice and aspire to empower and promote strength and healing for all.
